About Exchange Enterprises

Exchange Enterprises (also informally known as “EE” or “The Exchange”) is an award-winning commercial barter or trade company, established in 1983 in Darien, Connecticut. We are, in fact, Connecticut’s longest continuously operated trade exchange. Today, headquartered in Stratford, Connecticut, EE continues to serve its member businesses as it always has: by promoting, assisting in and recording barter transactions among them. And doing so with the highest professional ethics.

For over a quarter century southern Connecticut businesses have trusted Exchange Enterprises to help them reap the Benefits of Barter. Some have been members for 20 years or more. They like our honest, fair-minded way of doing business. We are neither the biggest nor the smallest trade exchange in the country, but we try to do what we do best: provide an honest and highly personal and service-oriented approach to helping our members. To us, trust and credibility are paramount. That’s why we say we are “Connecticut’s Longest Trusted Barter Company.”

If you are new to barter, we hope our website will be a helpful introduction and answer some of your questions. If you wish to speak with someone here, email or us call anytime. We’d be happy to talk to you. You are under no obligation.

Why Choose Us?

As you will see in our About Us page, Exchange Enterprises has a long history of trust and highly personal service. Some of our members have been with us for 20 years or more.

Why are trust and personal service so important here at EE? Simple. Barter is the business of money. You need to know the integrity of your barter dollar will be protected. You need to know your barter dollars are safe in our keeping until you spend them. And you need to know that we will work with you and your trading partners to maintain fair practices.

Trust is Good For Business

The barter industry is officially recognized by The U.S. Government, but it is still largely self-regulated. This means it is up to Exchange Enterprises (and the other commercial barter companies in America) to maintain standards on our own. We cannot speak for all other barter companies, but we at The Exchange, take this very seriously. It is in the best interest of our members, EE and the future of the commercial barter industry to do so. And we think it’s important you know that.

When you choose to join Exchange Enterprises we know you are placing your trust in us. Since 1983 we have worked every day to earn that trust and we will continue to do so in the years to come.

In brief, it is to our mutual best interest to keep you happy.
